What The Water Remembers
Bo’ness Library, 2025

Working together with local participants in the Falkirk District, we took to the canals with writing, drawing, sound recording and photography to delve into the untold stories of those who built and used them, exploring the displacement caused by their construction and the eco-human relationships shaped by these waterways. These often-overlooked but surprisingly rich sites carry stories of industry, migration, anti-capitalism and rewilding.

as part of the research for the dark mirror, and including works from the Bo’ness Library research collection, photographs from workshop participants, sound recordings from the Union Canal in Falkirk, paintings and textiles.
